Wish I May, Wish I Might...

3 wishes? Wow, this is harder than it sounds... Please excuse any naivete, I am assuming this magic genie will take care of the smaller, surrounding problems to my wishes!

Wish 1: First, I wish racism would go away. I think there are places where it is a huge problem. I also think that the fear of being discriminated against is a big problem. When I was a first-year teacher in Berkeley, I got called racist all the time. Ironic, since I left the OC for more diverse waters. I equate it to going shopping and interacting with a rude clerk: When it happens to me, I think, wow, she's a bitch. Some people, if she is a different race than they are, will think she is being racist. Now, I am not saying that racism only exists in people's heads, I am saying there is racism and there is perceived racism, and both are bad.

Wish 2: I think it would not work to end poverty. I think every government that has tried has failed. So instead, I am going to wish that poor did not equal uneducated. Many times, it's the poor schools that get low scores. I am firm believer that education can change almost anything, and it's what too many people lack. Better schools should not equal more money.

Wish 3: Ok, this one is selfish. I wish I could travel anywhere without worrying about the cost, and that I could stay long enough to get to know each country/city/village. I would want to be able to see as many shows as I want, eat as much as I want (can I make it all calorie free too?), and even get a few souvenirs here and there. Ahhh, that would be the life!

Is there anything I would need to clarify with the genie before these wishes come true? I wouldn't want it to end up like some bad 80's movie where I screw up the world with these wishes!
