Community Guidelines
TOG was created because there needed to be a place online where young women could share their views and opinions on thought provoking topics. So having a view or opinion is heavily encouraged – both through blogging and through commenting! TOG is all about sharing, debating, explaining, agreeing and disagreeing. What TOG is not about is tearing people down because of their views.
Too often, as females, the words “cattiness” or “cat-fight” are associated when two or more of us gather and talk about differences. Now, this may happen in the offline world and many other sites online… but that’s not what we’re about here. You don’t agree with what someone says? That’s totally fine. Argue against the view and not the girl behind the view. Back up your statements as well. Because no one likes that judgemental lurker who can’t stand their own ground.
That being said, these community guidelines are not about censorship, they are about creating a place where tearing down people through personal attacks, insults, or threats are completely unacceptable.
Here at TOG we will not tolerate:
1. Inappropriate language including name calling or expletives. Let’s leave that to grade school children and really close football games.
2. Posting inappropriate material including libelous, irrelevant, obscene or pornographic material. This is SO not the site to do this on.
3. Spam or Solicitation. Because who likes spam and being solicited? No one.
4. Impersonating, mocking another user, unproductive, or unrelated content. Again, I think most of us have graduated from grade school.
5. Breaking of laws, including copyright violation. Just because we’re in a virtual world doesn’t mean the real world cops won’t come after us.
These are inexcusable behavior and we totally reserve the right and discretion to edit and/or take down any blog post or comment that’s in violation of these community guidelines. We also reserve the right to block repeat offernders that violate the community guidelines. We welcome any report of violation of these community guidelines as well. Let’s stick to meaningful conversations that foster smart and witty debate and allow each other to speak our minds without fear of being personally harped on. Because that’s the type of community we’re trying to build.
Please Note: These guidelines are also considered items in the Terms of Service, a legal agreement between TOG and any user of this site. If you use/read content on/vote/partake in this site, you automatically agree to abide by the Terms of Service, including the Community Guidelines.
