Power Digital Moms in LA

Move over Geek Dads and make way for a new breed of tech savvy moms. They are called the Digital Moms. They can blog, they can tweet and some can even write HTML. According to a report published by Razorfish and Café mom, 40% of all women online today are moms. Why?  Because today’s mom has become quite adept in using technology and social media as a resource to help her “do it all”- whether it’s shopping, looking up recipes, researching about parenting or meeting other moms they turn to digital technologies to make life easier.

Remember that moms are like any other person. They are now interacting on social networks, text messaging, instant messaging and gaming. They highly value these activities because it helps them to not only simplify their family life but it also allows them to have an outlet to express their own selves and have fun. Moms really have come a long way.

Who hasn’t heard of famous blogger Heather Armstrong better known as Dooce?  She’s a perfect example of a Digital Mom. Aside from her personal blog (which was named one of the best blogs of 2009 by Forbes) she is a regular contributor to Alpha Mom and a panelist for Momversation.
