Wishing Outside The Box

three wishesWe all have, at one point or another, thought about this hypothetical situation. By some stroke of luck we come into possession a magic lamp with a big blue genie (yes I’m going with the Disney version), telling us we can have any 3 wishes we want. I can tell you now that the answer is either going to be any of the following: a) more money b) more love c) more happiness d) less diseases or the eradication of it and, of course, e) world peace.

So in the spirit of fun and lateral thinking (big word alert: it’s just another term for thinking outside the box) I decided to put a twist to how I wish my wishes. Come now, indulge me…

Wish # 1       How about wishing away a pet peeve?

Don’t tell me you do not have at least one? People chewing while their mouth is open, drivers changing lanes without signaling, stupid viral videos like that JK wedding entrance dance. I truly believe that wishing away those little annoyances, provided that it is a valid one, will help to keep people under the edge. Don’t you just think the world would be a better place to live in?

Wish # 2    How about not wishing for world peace?
Seriously, unless you are in the pageant circuit, why would you use such a canned response? So, no, I am not going to wish for world peace. Instead I am going to wish that everyone or anyone who commits a very grossly bad deed or violates any human/non-human right turns into a big blob of goo. Imagine how hard it would be to lift a weapon, much less a finger.

Wish # 3    How about paying it forward?

If you truly want to make a selfless wish, then wish your third wish forward. I never hear anyone say: “Oh for my third and last wish I want everybody else to have 3 wishes”. I guess the scary part would be that someone out there would wish for something stupid or something bad. Then again it could be solved by placing a condition that would make sure that they only wish for something positive or good.

There...that wasn't too hard. I would be very interested to see what your wishes would look like when you start thinking outside the box. Think of it as an alternative take on wishes…be creative and leave your 3 wishes on the comments section of this post.
