Not everyone gets an application…
Submitted by Janae on Tue, 12/08/2009 - 13:26So, if you’re a woman, you’re no stranger to this topic that I’m about to discuss. In fact, in your lifetime, you’ve probably had this conversation 1,564 times in one year! Where did I get this number?? Honestly, I made it up, BUT it sounds pretty interesting right??
The topic I’m going to discuss is, DATING. Again, nothing new, however it never fails that we must keep re-visiting this topic! Just yesterday, I had to enlighten my friend on this matter. She’s incredibly beautiful, talented, and intelligent, yet even she got caught up in the game of dating and needed a refresher. So, for anyone else who is struggling in this area, I thought I’d break it down for you as well.
A Heroine That’s Out of this World!
Submitted by Janae on Tue, 12/01/2009 - 13:30I must state, although I am perfectly content with myself and who I am as a person, if I could be any female of notoriety for a day, I guess it would have to be Mae Jemison.
Who is Mae Jemison??
Mae Jemison became the first black woman to travel into space, by boarding the space shuttle Endeavor on September 12,1992.
Why Mae Jemison??
Abort or Not Abort

To be completely honest, I’m torn on the issue of abortion. But, I must stress that when entering into the discussion of abortion, it is important to remember that there are two sides to the issue – social and legal.

I’m blessed to have both sets of my grandparents alive; therefore, every Thanksgiving, my family and I go to each of my grandparent’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. A typical Thanksgiving at both houses entails lots of laughter, noise, and most importantly FOOD - in fact…TOO MUCH food. By the time we’re done visiting both houses, my family and I don’t even want to see another turkey.
No Issues

To answer the question, has being a female hurt my career??...
I can truthfully say that I’ve been blessed by not having to face any opposition in the workforce because of my gender.
At my job, there are essentially equal amounts of female employees as men – each playing their own unique role. Being in the creative industry is colorless and genderless; therefore, If you can get the job done and at the highest quality for the best rate, you’re golden!
