The Hot Air of Fox "News"

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I think it is wrong to interchange the word opinion for news. Fox “News” has many opinion-based news shows and they spew their (I will use the term loosely) “facts” at random without much concern for the truth. I am not a fan of this channel by any means, but to try and gain some perspective I forced myself to watch some clips of Hannity and Beck; it was rough. The nonsense that they speak is laughable and makes the Daily Show’s job easy, but the scary thing about it is Americans are watching this AND agreeing to the hot air.
Currently, we see news articles about the feud going on between Fox News and the White House. There are varying opinions on what should have been done. I think that the White House choosing to ignore FOX is for the best. They are going to attack the administration for as long as Obama is in office, so why cater to them when there are other more important matters at hand. President Obama doesn’t need to worry about hurting the feeling of television's biggest cry baby, Glenn Beck. It seems there is nothing President Obama can do that is right in their eyes.
For instance, Fox News attacks every step Obama makes. Like wanting the Olympics in America, affordable healthcare for everyone, or them harping on the fact that he hasn’t fixed all of America’s woes in the ten months since being in office (which were all caused by the previous administration, but they leave that part out) and, of course, the biggest thorn in their side, the fact that he won the Nobel Peace Prize. To an outsider, these “issues” are laughable, but I suppose their disdain for Obama blinds their commonsense.
FOX News is playing the victim and whining that they are not getting interviews and are being treated unfairly. The fact is they brought this upon themselves. Every President and his administration in history has been dealt a healthy load of critique, but, in my opinion, FOX News crossed a line when their correspondent Glenn Beck called President Obama a racist, stating that he has a, “deep seated hatred for white culture or white people.” (Glenn Beck on Barack Obama: "This guy, I believe, is a racist" [FOX News], YouTube) It’s just ludicrous to say such a statement when Obama is half white, his mother and grandparents he grew up with are white, and he has not once shown a hint at any sort of racism. I just think this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
Luckily in America, we all have the right to choose how we obtain our news. People can watch CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS or even FOX News. To each his own, but my loyalties lie with Jon Stewart who delivers more in-depth stories and facts than FOX News, oh the irony.

Wow... that youtube video is
Wow... that youtube video is just ridiculous. I don't watch FoxNews. I refuse. But I know a lot of older conservative people who I respect that do watch it AND believe what they say. It's very frustrating. And just for the record, I also don't watch liberal news as well. I try (try being the operative word) to stay as moderate as possible when it comes to reading/viewing news and media.
I think you're dead on to say the best thing to do is to ignore them. But it's tough. When it comes to Obama, I understand that he's been handed these problems which he did not start or cause and I get that they are BIG COMPLICATED problems that don't have easy simple solutions. So my frustration lies in bashing him when he's trying to fix these problems.
Because of the economy, I think a lot of people are scared and worried about their future. But they have to realize that there are no quick fixes. And in my opinion all FoxNews is doing is playing upon these emotions in a negative way. It's really shameful.
