Want to share? Well, I have conditions.
Submitted by Rae on Tue, 10/26/2010 - 16:06Privacy online. It’s definitely a concern of mine, but there are several things that I do to help avoid any mishaps or over-sharing which may make me vulnerable. I use the Internet roughly 8-12 hours every day, so taking precaution is definitely a priority. Here are some things that I do to help prevent an invasion of my privacy online. While these tips may seem really straight forward, it’s kind of amazing how many people actually are not mindful of the small actions they can take to protect themselves.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month: A Pink Message Without A Pricetag
Submitted by Rae on Tue, 10/12/2010 - 15:17Everywhere I look there is pink. Even the football players on Sunday afternoon are sporting pink gloves or cleats. What gives? October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While it’s nice that there’s now a dedicated “pink” shelf full of products trying to both celebrate and capitalize on this issue in practically every store I enter, is this really helping to spread awareness?

Female Journalists in Mens Locker Rooms: Let's be professional
Submitted by Rae on Tue, 09/28/2010 - 12:28At the beginning of the NFL season, Ines Sainz, a female sports journalist was in the NY Jets locker room waiting to do an interview. She tweeted about being embarrassed and later admitted to feeling uncomfortable as players sent catcalls her way. What’s all the big hoopla about?
Is this acceptable behavior towards any journalist, let alone a female?
Women at War: We fought for the right to fight - let's not forget who we are fighting for
Submitted by Rae on Tue, 09/14/2010 - 12:28I happened to randomly flip through Vogue’s September issue and started reading its "Women at War Bye-Bye Baby" article. I found myself having strong conflicting reactions and opinions to the issues this article brings up. See, I come from a military background. My father was in the Navy, though, we did not follow him every 3 years while he was stationed and re-stationed. My parents chose to have my mother and my sisters live with my mom’s family so we would have stability and consistency. My dad would visit as often as he could.
Travel: 3 Places That Make The List
Submitted by Rae on Tue, 07/20/2010 - 09:39I have my list of places that I would like to travel to. They include exploring beach cities and ancient ruins. Australia tops the list and when I go I’d like to take a cruise on over to New Zealand. However, if I was to think of the top 3 places I would visit, the Philippines, Abu Dhabi, and St. Bart’s would be the trio.
