Travel: 3 Places That Make The List
I have my list of places that I would like to travel to. They include exploring beach cities and ancient ruins. Australia tops the list and when I go I’d like to take a cruise on over to New Zealand. However, if I was to think of the top 3 places I would visit, the Philippines, Abu Dhabi, and St. Bart’s would be the trio.
Philippines
My parents are originally from the Philippines and although they raised me in a Pilipino traditional type way, I only understand, not speak, the language. On top of that, I am slight embarrassed to say that I am unfamiliar with its geography and history. It tops my list as a go-to spot to not only learn more about my culture and vacation but I’d also like to do some voluntourism as well so that I can make some sort of positive contribution.
Abu Dhabi
This capital and second largest city of the United Arab Emirates has received quite the attention this year. First having a huge promotional boost from being featured in SATC2 to accepting its inauguration class for N.Y.U. Abu Dhabi. While the chance to ride a camel through the desert and lounge by a five star pool is wholly enticing, the fact that such a conservative state is allowing a university from the U.S. to grow within its borders is quite intriguing. I’d love to go and immerse myself in the culture, play the tourist, and also check in to see how N.Y.U. is turning the world into a classroom.
St. Barts
Ok, so this is my beach splurge. I’ve been to beaches on the Pacific Ocean so I’d love to go east to the Atlantic and visit the French Caribbean. I’d love to stay at a resort and just lounge all day long, eat great food, and just take a breather from the real world. I’m a huge beach girl so this is definitely in my top 3!
